Planning to Plan it Out

Not only do I have to plan when it comes to getting healthy but I have to set aside some time to plan this plan. I can't just aimlessly go to the grocery store...I have to plan the meals for the week and then go...otherwise when I'm in the kitchen without all my healthy choices then I just have to grab the chips or fry french fries instead...you know I have to. And if I don't sit down to plan my week out, then I'll be running late each morning with my normal dress routine and not have time to cook or prepare my healthy thought out breakfast and just be forced to stop at Mickey D for a McGriddle or head down to the Kay Kafe for grits, eggs, and fatback bacon.... see that's what happen to me when I fail to plan. If I continue to fail to plan then I am setting myself up for failure. No doubt. So next time I'm chillax'n watching a lil tube, I'll break out the planner and a pen and make it a productive hour. Sunshyne Out.

  1. Thank you for the nice comment you left me! That really made my day! I'm doing a Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 challenge (well it wasn't a challenge at first..only for myself but it's turned into a challenge!) starting May 1st! She does have modifications if you want to jump on board? Do what you can and watch things start to change! Keep blogging too, it'll help with some of the frustration if the scale stops moving!

21 Day Fix - Overview Week 2

Ok my confession first; I didn’t work out much last week…..three days. I let life give me excuses and I used ‘em. I am, however, still eating according to plan for the most part and still dropping pounds and inches. Although this is a 3-week program, I really don’t plan to stop…. since the goal is to adapt to the habits as my normal way of eating I will simply continue. I still give kudos to the program because I was at a major plateau. Although this is simply a program of portion control and timely eating… it’s presented in a way that makes it understandable in a market that is just overwhelmed with "get-skinny-fast" schemes. Tools are provided that helps you to see visually the perfect balance of nutrients to fuel and nourish your body. And you can’t beat a 30 minute but still effective workout. I’ve found that I can even “stray” and still see a drop on the scale. Friday night, I went out to eat my all-time favorite meal of Mexican fare. I almost always order a large...

Knee Up...

Sometimes I don't know if pain/discomfort I'm experiencing is simply weight related or if it's something I really should get checked. I've noticed my knee is constantly irritated. Only my left knee. At Zumba last night I could barely lean to the left while squat/plie. I kinda loosens up toward the end of the hour of aerobic activity but still hurts. Some kicks and such in MMA fitness really twist my knee up..... I was thinking that maybe because I'm not getting up on my toes more that the shoe-to-carpet connection is jarring on my knee but I'm just not sure. Every morning when I jump out of bed I'm limping pretty noticeably and this morning was no different. As the old folks say "Arthur was acting up" ...that is a possibility (arthritis) since it was very irritated during this morning's rainy weather. I guess I will mention it when I go for my regular checkup in a month but for now I'll just keep working it out. ugh.....Sunshyne Out.! (phot...

Gray Areas...

I'm experiencing "grey areas" in my life right now. Yes I am still separated and not divorced. Yes I still technically have a live-in boyfriend and a husband. And yes they both want to be a major part of my life. And unfortunately, I want to be a part of both of their lives but realize that can't happen. Initial sparks wear out and reality sets in..... just in my case sparks can go on a long time usually after sexual and emotional connections have gotten way too deep.  Right now I'm taking the time to redefine love in my life. Love means something different to each person. I realize in talking to different friends on a day-to-day basis...that we all view relationships differently.  Some women think that as long as he's a provider, they can put up with anything. To me money is not everything, what about the desire to be in your partner's presence?  What about having that indescribable feeling when you get that hug at the end of the day? What about looking f...
